One of Guelph’s summer traditions will return this August, as the Rotary Club of Guelph Trillium will host its annual Ribfest.
With a subtitle of “Rhythm & Rotary”, the event combines a traditional barbecue with live music, an artisan market, and a classic car show. The main attraction will be a bevy of “ribbers” each offering their own takes on the classic pork rib, with names like Billy Bones BBQ, Boss Hogs BBQ, and Smokehouse Bandits. The top ribs will be judged and awarded on-stage. The live music stage will feature a mixture of tribute groups like True Rodeo and the famed Practically Hip and local musicians such as Kerosene Creek and Tokyo Giants.
Ribfest will also feature an assortment of classic and refurbished cars. There will be two sets of awards presented to the best-looking at most unique vehicles. There will also be a “kids zone” for visiting families and a market full of local vendors, including non-ribs food and artisanal goods. Marketplaces and summer festivals such as this provide an opportunity for local businesses to find new customers with special deals and Promotional Products. Attendance is free but the event will be collecting donations for the Rotary Club of Guelph Trillium.
