The public is invited to find out more about the Donkey Sanctuary of Canada and the animals it helps at this year’s first Donkey Open Day.
The organization provides shelter and care for mules, hinnies and donkeys that have been rescued from abuse, or with owners who can longer provide a home for them.
Visitors to the event will be able to stroll the grounds and meet the donkeys that live there. They can even get up close with them, brush them and watch a demonstration of the daily care that they need to be healthy and happy. Donkey talk is also planned for the day, which will give more information about the facility, the donkeys and other animals that live there, and how the public can land a hand.
Those who have already sponsored one of the farm’s residents will be able to spend time with the hinny, mule or donkey that they are helping. There are also hiking trails, a wild duck marsh, and a fundraising gift shop. A printer can produce a variety of Promotional Products that can be sold in this type of setting.
This Donkey Day, which is scheduled for May 1, will be the first one of the season. The sanctuary can be found at 6981 Puslinch Concession 4 in Guelph. More details are available on the Donkey Sanctuary of Canada website.
