Print services in Guelph, an hour north west of Toronto, are watching one of that city’s print companies as they launch a high creative marketing campaign targeting
The Printing House (THP), based in Toronto, has launched a series of webisodes as part of a social media blitz starring a fictional character called “The Printz”. The star of these videos is a barbarian; a Nordic brut who is a communications worker. “The Printz” is a hero, showing up to save office-worker “Keith” from day-to-day dilemmas by presenting him with examples of what can be created using print.
The videos were shot in an office-setting and poke fun at office oddities, such as coats in closets which don’t seem to belong to anyone, employees who go out to smoke and dirty microwaves in the office kitchen.
THP has invested in follow-up print campaigns after the release of each webisode in the zany video series, with hopes of giving customers a fresh prospective of the company and to help create brand awareness. At the very least, the campaign will heighten the awareness of what business card and Stationery printers in Guelph can offer.
Marc Petitpas, vice-president of the company, hopes the campaign will help tell the story that print is evolving with the times and still remains a creative force in a digital age.
The first webisode on You Tube had over 3,000 views. Three have been made so far, each three minutes or less in duration.
The campaign is also making extensive use of Twitter and Facebook.
