The City of Guelph has recently made the 2012 Conservation Calendar available to residents. This calendar lists local events and programs, the waste collection schedule and environmental tips. It also contains a Guelph “State of the Environment” report, contact numbers for city services and a pull-out section on what to recycle.
The calendar contains photographs taken by Guelph residents and professional photographer; this year’s theme is “Guelph’s seasonal beauty” and features photographs of nature. Anyone who wishes to submit a photograph can be either a Print copy or a digital copy. Submitted photographs will be considered for next year’s calendar or any other city publication. Using photographs submitted by Guelph citizens helps to foster pride in the city.
Those who wish can download a copy of the calendar and print it out themselves. Local Guelph printing companies have also helped in the creation of a print version. Residents of the city who get the Guelph Tribune will have already received a copy of the calendar in the December 1 issue. For those who missed it, the calendar is also available at City Hall, Guelph Public Library, Evergreen Seniors Community Centre, Victoria Road Recreation Centre and the West End Community Centre.
Producing a free calendar for residents will make them aware of upcoming events and programs available to them and they will most likely use some of those services listed. Those whose photographs are chosen will be proud to have been included and will want let everyone they know about it; this will ensure that more people will have access to the important information included in the calendar.
