The Guelph Arts Council has been successful in its search for a new executive director to take over leadership of the organization.
The candidate selected was Patti Broughton, who was formerly a specialist in public relations from St. Catherine’s in Ontario.
She has an extensive background in the field, holding an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts from the University of Western Ontario. Broughton specialized in Arts Administration, in addition to obtaining a post graduate Public Relations certificate from Niagara College. She is also continuing her education by currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Niagara College.
She has worked in the field of administration for 20 years in a variety of positions, including one at the Centre for the Arts at Brock University, on the St. Catherine’s and Area Arts Council, as well as the Shaw Festival. She has also been the manager of the Colony of Avalon Foundation.
In her new position, she may require digital Business Cards, which a printing firm will be able to supply, as well as any other Stationery items she or the organization may need.
The Guelph Arts Council is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. Its goal is to promote and support arts in the city, and to give its members a voice within the community that they might not otherwise have on their own.
