Neil Young appears at upcoming awards show

Print companies in Guelph, Ontario, will be busier than usual whilst they help to promote the Juno Awards, which are taking place in nearby Toronto in late March. The reason that there is increased focus on this year’s Canadian music awards show is because of the presence of legend and old-timer Neil Young, who briefly returns to Canada after making a name for himself for decades in the United States.

Young’s appearance on this year’s Juno Awards has been in the making for six years already because the last time he was scheduled to appear at the awards, he was forced to pull out. Back in 2005, Young was slated to appear at the Juno Awards that were held in Winnipeg; it would have been an ideal hometown welcome for the rocker who dislikes appearing in public often. However, Young had to pull out due to a life-threatening brain aneurysm that year, to the disappointment of many hometown fans.

Still, the president of Canada’s Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, Melanie Berry, has guaranteed fans that Young will nonetheless be making an appearance. She said that the rocker had personally verified to her that he will be at the awards shindig to pick up his award.

This year’s Juno Awards will take place on March 27 at the Air Canada Center in Toronto. The scheduled host is Canadian performer Drake, who is an R&B singer.

The ratings for the telecast will likely be higher than normal due to Young’s appearance, as expectations are high due to the promotional campaign, which is being aided by poster and banner printing companies in Guelph.
