An upcoming edition of the Nature Guelph Virtual Speaker Series will feature speaker Kevin Callan and will focus on the positive sides of the environment and the joys of wilderness exploration.
Also known as The Happy Camper, Callan is a nationally renowned writer, speaker and filmmaker who is known for his 18 Books, columns in Paddling and Explore magazines and frequent radio and television appearances.
His talk “Wilderness Pleasures”, which is to be streamed over the Zoom platform, will focus on motivation for exploring the wilderness through hiking, camping and other adventures. The talk will also discuss how to become more skillful and dependable in outdoor settings, and how to motivate others to join in adventures.
Callan’s talk will be the latest in the Virtual Speaker Series hosted by Nature Guelph, which focuses on all aspects of the natural world and how humans interact with it. Past speakers include Roger Suffling and Kat Lucas.
Virtual presentations like this, often advertised through tools like poster printing and social media, have become a popular way for organizations to educate and stay in touch with their members safely. Nature Guelph also hosts monthly presentation series specifically dedicated to birdwatching and wildflowers.
