Guelph residents looking for a last-minute gift or just some inspiration will be interested in the Mother Day’s Market to be held in the city this May, on the day before the maternal holiday. The market will feature over 50 vendors, with most providing custom and handmade arts and crafts. Potential gifts include art, candles, jewelry, home decorating items, clothes, and more.
In addition to the shopping, the Mother’s Day Market will include a complementary “mini spa” and live music, including a harpist to “serenade” visitors. The first 50 visitors will receive a free gift, and all will be entered into a raffle.
Events like the market highlight how holidays like Mother’s Day can drive business for local artisans and entrepreneurs. In addition to special marketplaces, businesses may use poster printing, flyer printing, social media, and word of mouth to present their products as ideal gifts.
Vendors will include local custom jewelers like Snap Junkies, known for their bee-shaped rings and necklaces, and Spack Craft, which makes items like custom wallets. For mothers with more unusual tastes, there will be Chambers Food barbecue tools and selenite healing crystals.
The Mother’s Day Market will be held on the morning of May 11 at the Holiday Inn Guelph. The market is presented by Savvy Events Canada, which hosts seasonal gatherings and markets across the country.
