The annual symposium hosted by Guelph’s Relation Media will focus on how businesses make use of social media.
The event will aim to show small business owners and community leaders how to establish a social media strategy and grow their brand in the digital era.
The community symposium, subtitled ‘Social Media in Community Building & Better Business’, will consist of a thirty-minute panel discussion followed by a thirty-minute question and answer period on the topic of social media.
The panelists will include Dominique O’Rourke, Guelph City Councillor and formerly of Accolade Communications, Nick Menze from Menze Media and Our Guelph, and Megan McNabb of Wildly Digital. Following this presentation, there will be an hour for mingling and networking. Visitors can expect a few Business Cards and promotional Pens to be exchanged alongside Facebook and Twitter handles.
This event will take place on the evening of September 24 at the 10C Shared Space on Carden Street. Given the ever-growing presence of social media, and the speed with which both smart marketing and blunders can go “viral”, such a subject should be of interest to many businesses.
