Once again, Guelph has earned the title of being one of the most romantic cities in Canada.
The online retailer Amazon.ca recently conducted its sixth annual ranking for cities across the country, and Guelph came in at number eight. In the six years that the list has been kept, Guelph has ranked at second in 2011 and 2012 and fifth in 2013.
Amazon bases its list on the sale of items starting on January first of the year. This includes the sale of products such as romantic music, novels, relationship advice Books, jewellery,and other items it feels are associated with love and romance.
The company compares sales of products such as these on a per capita basis for each city of over 80,000 people, and then uses that to make its determination.
Other cities that found places in the rankings included Victoria, which was first, and North Vancouver , which came in at second. Waterloo took the third place.
Various businesses operating in the city may use the ranking to their advantage, updating their flyer, brochure, and poster printing campaigns to reflect the fact that Guelph is nationally recognised as a romantic place.
