Guelph musical theatre to return with hit-filled revue

Guelph’s Royal City Musical Productions will return to the stage this November with a special revue featuring songs from some of the world’s most successful musicals.

All Together Now is a global event where songs from hit musicals like Les Misérables, Frozen, Into the Woods and Come From Away are provided free of charge to local theatre groups to help them get back on their feet in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The event will see over 5,000 performances across over 44 countries. Guelph’s event will star local actors and singers who may be familiar with theatre regulars from past performances.

Multiple directors will be working on the Guelph production. A series of video auditions were used to select a cast. For those who cannot make it out to the theatre, the performance will also be screened online.

All Together Now is the first Royal City Music event in over 18 months, and it comes with a number of changes to allow for safe gathering, including presenting the show without an intermission. Local theatre performances, which often rely on local businesses like second-hand stores for props and printing services for programs, provide an opportunity for people from all walks of life to show their skills.

The Guelph edition of All Together Now is set to take place at the Fergus Grand Theatre between November 12 and 15.
