The Guelph & Area Independent & New Music & Arts Festival, also known as GAIN Fest, will be back in action this April with line-up of music and entertainment in downtown Guelph.
The festival has started to announce its musical line-up in the lead-up to the event. Veteran of the event Mattie Leon will be back for a solo show, while pop artist Dani Ducotte has been confirmed as one of the headliners. Other announced artists include The Boo Radley Project, She Bad and Excuse Me. There will also be arts displays and other types of performances by local talents at various venues around the downtown area. Past editions have included events such as an Arts Market for local vendors and creators and an Open Stage.
This year will see GAIN Fest returning to a spring timeslot, after its 10th annual edition was held in June last year. The festival is presented by GAIN Media, whose stated goal is to grow the Guelph area music and arts scene through various events and initiatives. Local festivals such as this, often using methods such as banner printing and local radio advertising to raise awareness, can help provide opportunities for independent artists to gain exposure and win fans.
GAIN Fest 2023 will take place from April 27 to 30 throughout downtown Guelph. Confirmed venues include the Opus Lounge, Onyx and the Red Brick Cafe.
