Genrecon is set to take place in Guelph over three days in October. This convention is aimed at fans of the action, fantasy, horror and science fiction genres.
There will be plenty to do during convention for fans of all ages. The attractions will include panel discussions about TV shows, movies, cosplay and gaming, as well as workshops on Geek Dancing, an Introduction to Swing Dance and Zombie Survival tips. Numerous celebrity guests will also be present.
In addition, there will be competitions in video gaming, card and board games and cosplay. So far, authors Amanda Sun and Kelley Armstrong and game designer Keith Baker have been booked to make appearances during the weekend.
There will also be a film festival, RPG sessions, book readings and signings, trivia contests, and a dealer's room. Dealers, who will be selling a variety of related items such as comic Books, DVDs, photographs, costumes and action figures, can rent space for $150 for the three days.
Many of the dealers will likely be investing in services such as sign and banner printing from Guelph printing companies to help draw attention to their tables. Organizers will also be ordering such items as Flyers and Posters from the same firms.
Genrecon will take place at the Delta Guelph Hotel and Conference Centre from October 4-6. Three day passes are $30 in advance or $35 on the door. To find out more about the convention, visit the official website.
