This year’s event will use the theme of “Boots & Bows”, emphasizing a mixture of formal attire with the blue-collar work of the agricultural industry. There will be a welcome reception with plenty of time for socializing and networking, followed by an All-Ontario buffet dinner showcasing the province’s best produce, meat and more. The Paul Mistele Memorial Award will be presented to agricultural businesses or individuals who have worked towards ending hunger in Ontario. Gala events such as these allow people in the same industry to network through exchanging Business Cards and contact information
There will also be an Ontario Tourism Auction, in which attendees can bid on experiences such as dinners and hotel stays across the province. Money raised through the auction will go towards the Farm & Food Care Ontario organization, which works to provide public education and promote the agricultural industry. The organization describes its mission as:
“Farm & Food Care Ontario brings farmers, agricultural professionals, related businesses, government organizations and other groups together with a mandate to build public trust in food and farming in Ontario and across Canada.”
The 2024 Food & Farm Care Ontario Gala will take place on November 28 at the Guelph Data Hotel and Conference Centre.
