Local printing companies can go a long way to helping ensure fundraising events are a success and the Thanksgiving Food Drive at the Guelph Food Bank is one important and recent example of an event successful through local efforts. Poster printing and flyer printing distribution helped ensure that the bank was able to surpass its Thanksgiving goal.
The Guelph annual Food Drive was extended to end on October 30, which helped allow the bank to surpass its goal of 36,287 kilograms of food. Through promotional efforts and the work of volunteers, a total of 38,101 kilograms were collected.
This year, the University of Guelph’s students got involved in helping the local community and ensuring Guelph’s food bank was a success. Promotions through banner and poster printing help to ensure that students donate both time and money to the important cause and make a difference in the local community. The University of Guelph Meal Exchange’s annual Trick or Eat brought in even more non-perishables - an extra 13,607.8 to add to the drive.
More printed advertising support may be requested in the near future, with the Guelph Santa Claus Parade scheduled for November 18. The Guelph community will then be soliciting the support of the public yet again, when the food bank teams up with Guelph Police Services, Red Car Service, and Wellington Motors. The organizations will be collecting food and cash donations during the parade, just in time for the holidays.
The Guelph Food Bank will also be looking for ‘Adopt a Family’ sponsors.
