Guelph conference to focus on organic food

After a successful 2023 edition, the Guelph Organic Conference will be returning this January, putting a spotlight on the organic food industry.

The conference will bring together professionals in the organic food sector from across Canada. The conference theme will be “Bring Organic Home” with a focus on how to incorporate organics into everyday life. The keynote panel will be on the topic “Organics in a Changing Climate: Cross-Country Perspective” and include speakers such as Dr. Av Singh, a prolific academic writer, and Allison J. Squires, president of the Canadian Organic Growers organization. Also included will be a question-and-answer session after presentations from each speaker.

There will also be a number of other panels and talks under topics such as ‘Market Gardens and Horticulture’ or ‘Grains and Livestock’. The Conference will also include a trade show floor which is open to the public. The trade show will stretch across two floors and feature exhibitors ranging from farms to equipment businesses to non-profit organizations. Trade shows such as this provide an opportunity for professionals to make connections with potential customers and business partners, with business card printing an essential part of preparation. The conference first began in 2003 with the goal of promoting organic agriculture and providing education.

The 2023 Guelph Organic Conference will take place at the University of Guelph from January 24 to 27.
