Pauls spoke positively of the October performance of Bob Chilcott’s “Five Days That Changed the World”, saying:
"I felt the positive energy in the room, and felt buoyed by the music throughout the afternoon."
She highlighted the performances of percussionist Richard Moore and pianist Alison McNeill for praise.
Pauls was selected for her over 25 years of experience as a choral conductor, vocal soloist, and instructor. She also serves as Associate Artistic Instructor for the Oakville Choir for Children and Youth, and has past experience throughout Southern Ontario.
Founded in 1980, the Guelph Chambe Choir aims to highlight the power and accessibility of choral music. Prior to Pauls’ appointment, it was lead for 36 of its 38 years by Gerald Neufeld. Choirs and other musical groups encourage local participation and aim to bring communities together. They often use tools like flyer printing and banner printing to get the word out about upcoming performances.
Following the October performance, the GCC began preparing for their traditional holiday schedule. This will culminate in two performances of Handel’s “Messiah”: a shorter, sing-along fundraiser on December 20, and a full performance on December 21 at the River Run Centre.
