Guelph brewery to celebrate milestone

Guelph’s Wellington Brewery will be commemorating its 40th anniversary this September with a weekend-long festival of events.

The festivities are promoted under the name FORTY and feature three different themed sessions across two days. Friday will kick things off with a 80s Birthday Bash, aiming to take visitors back to the brewery’s 1985 founding with cover bands playing the decade’s biggest hits and reviving classic brews. The following day will feature the Craft Beer Carnivale with Latin-inspired music and local craft beer. This event will have a family element, with a live reptile show and science workshop for young visitors.

As day turns to night, FORTY will conclude with Boots & Brews, a country-themed night involving live music and dancing. Visitors are invited to bring their “Welly Boots” and hit the dance floor. Each event includes a commemorative sampling glass and one drink token. This year’s event will also include special ticket packages, discounts for designated drivers and group rates.

Wellington Brewery will also be operating a free shuttle to and from the event. Anniversary events like this often use flyer printing and social media to help raise awareness of the event in the local community. Featured musical acts come from across Southern Ontario and include Vox Confidential, Conexion Latina, and Fellow Camper.

The FORTY festival will take place on September 5 and 6 at Wellington Brewery in Guelph.
