The 14th annual Awards of Excellence Gala will be taking place in Guelph later this month. The awards recognize those who have contributed greatly to the community through business, charity work or by volunteering.
Several categories of awards will be handed out by various organizations during the evening. These include the Mayors Awards, the Guelph and Wellington Branch ACO Heritage Awards, and the United Way of Guelph and Wellington Campaign Awards.
The chamber's Business Awards, which are only given to chamber members, include prizes for best small and large company, Community Benefit, Skills for Tomorrow and Better Planet. The winners are nominated by their peers and chamber members vote on the three finalists in each category – past winners have chosen to publicise the accolade with the help of printing companies.
The gala will include a four-course dinner and the event is expected to be an excellent networking opportunity for those who work for the area’s community organizations and businesses. No doubt many company owners in Guelph will be placing new business card printing orders ahead of attending the gala. They will want to ensure that their contact information is correct when they exchange cards with their peers and that they don't run out of cards by the end of the evening.
