The 8th annual John Galt Day is being celebrated in Guelph this August. It is dedicated to the founder of the city.
There will be lots of activities taking place in downtown Guelph for people of all ages. There is set to be musical entertainment, water play, and children's games and crafts. In the past, performers have included the Royal Academy of Irish Dance. The Guelph Civic Museum will be free for the day, or by donation. This year, the museum is welcoming Locomotive 6167 into its permanent collection, and will be hosting plenty of train-related activities during the day.
Guelph Farmers' Market vendors will also be set up on the day to provide food and merchandise for sale.
In past years, the museum offered special lectures on the day and provided a walking tour of the downtown area. It is likely that similar activities will be taking place at this year's celebration.
This historic Guelph event attracts lots of residents each year. In order to let those who are new to the city know about it, organizers may invest in services such as flyer printing. The Flyers can then be distributed through the mail, or handed out on street corners.
