Dartmouth concert to benefit charity

The North Grove will once again be holding its Light the Way: A Concert in Candlelight fundraising event this November in Dartmouth.

Light the Way will feature a combination of classical instrumentation and contemporary pop hits, with music performed by the Rostova String Quartet, returning from previous years’ shows. The quartet is an emerging chamber music group based in Nova Scotia, performing a mixture of the classical canon, the popular repertoire including chart-topping hits and film scores, and new works by Canadian composers.

The concert hall will be darkened, with light only provided by candles placed throughout the building. Candlelight concerts like this have become a popular attraction, with event hosts able to use striking images of candlelit venues on poster printing and other promotional materials.

All proceeds from the concert will go towards Dartmouth North community hub The North Grove, which helps provide food, family support, and other programs and services for people in need. The North Grove has hosted Light the Way concerts in previous years to raise funds, with local business sponsors also contributing. Those who can’t attend one of the two performances can purchase a “symbolic ticket” to support the cause.

The 2025 edition of Light the Way: A Concert in Candlelight will take place on November 15 and 16 at The Sanctuary Arts Centre in Dartmouth.
