St. Johns offers open house day

Residents of St. John’s who have perhaps wondered how their home city works may want to look at an activity that will give them behind the scenes access to a variety of spaces.

The Municipal Open House 2026 will provide a sneak peek into venues that are not normally open to the public, as well as other areas. Part of the city’s Municipal Awareness Week events, it is free to take part.

The activity is open to all ages, so the whole family will be welcome. They can visit Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility as well as Central Fire Station, City Hall and the City Archives. Three different recreation faculties will also be open, and there will be an assortment of activities on offer at each one. The venues will all be accessible to anyone who requires a mobility device, and they can be reached by public transit.

Hosting an open house or similar activity gives a city the chance to show its residents how it operates on a day-to-day basis. Promotional Pens and other items to hand out to visitors that drop by can be ordered from area Print shops.
