A winter entrepreneurship program in St. John’s will offer a business development course.
Students can partake in the hybrid Development Program regardless of prior business training. The course is designed to introduce participants to core entrepreneurial concepts while supporting the development of practical problem-solving skills connected to early-stage business ideas.
Offered at no cost, the program covers a range of topics relevant to starting and managing a business in the province. These include branding, legal considerations, sales, marketing, social media, finances and long-term planning. Participants who complete the program will receive a certificate.
Workshop modules form the theoretical portion of the program and will be delivered online through a virtual platform. Weekly in-person components complement these sessions, with physical attendance available at the St. John’s campus. The program will provide online access to students at Grenfell, Labrador Campus, and the Marine Institute.
Together, the two formats aim to provide a balanced introduction to entrepreneurship within the Newfoundland and Labrador region. The workshops focus on applying course material through exercises and discussion, with contributions from entrepreneurs, representatives from ecosystem organizations and MUN faculty.
Printed materials can contain logo and graphic design elements used throughout programs like this.
The Development Program will take place at Memorial University Newfoundland’s St. John’s campus, 230 Elizabeth Ave., beginning February 3, 2026, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.
