Beers and ales date back centuries, and those in Winnipeg interested in learning more about historical brewing may find a winter beer brewing workshop right up their street.
Fort Whyte Alive provides programming all year long, and much of what it has on offer has been designed to be both entertaining and educational. It will be hosting its Open Fire Brewing afternoon in March, and no previous experience is necessary to enjoy the activity.
The participants will discover how locally grown barley, hops and other ingredients can be transformed into tasty beers, and two different “brews” will be crafted during the session. The activities take place outdoors, and beermaster Barret Miller will be sharing his knowledge. While the techniques taught will utilize an open fire, they may be adapted for the modern home kitchen. The participants will be invited to ask questions, and tickets for the occasion are $40.
A class like this one may find the services of a brochure printing company to come in handy. It will be able to prepare everything from recipe cards to waivers, as well as swag.
This chance to get fired up about brewing will be offered on March 5th. It will begin at 1:00 pm at 1961 McCreary Road.
