Vancouvers Bell Joy Ride joins forces with She Summits

Two Vancouver-area events designed to encourage women to get involved with outdoor exploration will team up this October, as the Bell Joy Ride will be held in conjunction with She Summits.

Bell Joy Ride is a bimonthly mountain biking event exclusive to people who identify as women. The rides are aimed at women of all skill levels and ages, with care taken that no one is uncomfortable with the pace or trails. She Summits is a festival that aims to highlight female contribution to social and environmental justice, featuring film screenings, workshops, and other events.

The two organizations will be holding a conjoined event, with the Joy Ride scaling North Vancouver’s Mount Fromme in the morning, co-sponsored and highlighted by She Summits. The ride will be led by Debora De Napoli of Juliana Bicycles and Bell Joy Ride Ambassador Jaclyn Delacroix. She Summits will also present “Mindful Movies + Meditation” that evening at The Hive North Shore, which will consist of two short films and a guided meditation. Events like this, often advertised through social media, banner printing and brochure printing, can help to promote community togetherness and encourage women to try pursuits that may seem intimidating on their own.

The joint Bell Joy Ride/She Summits mountain bike ride will take place on October 19, starting off at the Fromme Mountain parking lot.
