Spring has sprung, and that means it's time for a walk that will both welcome the birds that have made their way north as well as visit those who live in the area year round.
Sam MacTavish will be leading a bird walk organized by the Wild North Vancouver’s Maplewood Flats, and this will be the group’s first spring walk for this year.
The participants in the activity will keep their eyes peeled and their ears open while they search for birds and with some luck, they may even be able to spot a lifer. They will learn how the birds they spot are interconnected with the site, and they may also discover the importance of indigenous plants for wildlife. It's free for Tsleil-Waututh members, and the standard rate is $15.00, which covers the cost of delivering the program. There is also an option to book a pair of binoculars for $5.00 and also one that makes a donation when reserving a spot.
Birding is an activity that may be enjoyed by people of different levels of ability, and there are even adaptive options for those with mobility issues. Species checklists, promotional Pens and other materials for an outing can be ordered from an area brochure printing company.
This warm welcome to the returning birds of Maplewood Flats in North Vancouver will visit the venue on April 11th. It will take to the trails at 1:00 pm.
