The rivers and streams around North Vancouver are home to some unique creatures, and an upcoming event will offer a sneak peek into their world.
Everything from baby dragonflies to dipping birds that walk under the water on the river bottom will be on the agenda for the Water World session of the Discovery Days program, which is taking place at the Lynn Canyon Ecology Centre. It is best suited to kids ages 3 to 8, and they must attend with an adult.
The attendees will be introduced to the wildlife that call Lynn Creek home, and they will find out what makes a stream a healthy place for these creatures to call home. Both plants and animals will be in the discussion, and there will be lots of hands-on learning. A story, short walk and craft make-and-take are all on the agenda. Those interested should note the activity includes navigating a dirt path, stairs, trails with roots and a steep slope. The $16.00 registration fee covers one child along with an adult. It will run for one and half hours.
Stationery printers can supply lots of options for a function like this, including certificates of completion and bespoke note cards.
The Lynn Canyon Ecology Centre has set this sneak peek into the creatures that call Lynn Creek home for August 1st. It will begin at 10:30 am.
