North Vancouver venue hosts plant ID walk

Summer will soon be in full swing in North Vancouver, and those who enjoy learning about nature and the world around them are welcome to join in the fun of an upcoming plant identification walking workshop.

The participants in the Plant ID Workshop will be paying a visit to Princess Park, and the walk will be a casual experience led by a foraging instructor. They will be sharing their knowledge of nature’s bounty, and it is geared towards the beginner.

The instructor for the activity will share tips for identifying edible and the plants in the field, and harvesting and preparing them in the kitchen will be covered as well. Those interested should note fungi will not be included, and no actual forging will take place. Everyone will receive a sample of herbal tea before they head for home, as well as a PDF of the information provided so they can keep on learning.

Knowing how to properly ID plants can be an important skill for a forager to have, and participating in a workshop can provide this information. Organizers can order printed PDFs, maps and other materials for similar activities from a local professional printing services company.

Waterfront Holistics has organized this North Vancouver Plant ID Workshop for July 5th. The venue is located at 3491 Princess Avenue, and tickets start at $38.61.
