Fans of classic films in North Vancouver will soon be able to enjoy screenings under the stars thanks to an upcoming initiative host at the Polygon Gallery.
Cates Deck, which is located in front of the gallery, will be transformed into an outdoor theatre for the Deckchair Cinema series, and screenings are planned from late June to late August. These are each scheduled for a Thursday evening, and there will be entertainment and other fun on offer before each movie is shown.
Those interested are advised to arrive early so they can secure their spot and get their blankets or folding chairs set up, and local breweries will have cold beer on tap to enjoy. Thanks to support from BMO Financial Group, admission will be by donation, with donations of $10 most welcome.
Many communities offer outdoor concerts, movies and other in-person events during the summer months. A poster printing company will be pleased to assist with promoting such events by providing marketing materials.
The 2024 Deckchair Cinema initiative will be starting on Thursday, June 27th, with the final screening set to take place on Thursday, August 29th. They will each kick off at 7:00 pm on Cates Deck, and the audience members will also have access to one of the Polygon Gallery’s latest exhibits, Anti-Icon: Apokalypsis.
