A new all-vegetarian grocery store has opened in North Vancouver.
Called Larry’s Market, the store aims to provide a greater selection to vegetarians, vegans, and people with food sensitivities rarely catered for in mainstream supermarkets.
Larry’s Market advertises its selection of local fruits and vegetables, as well as bulk grain, dairy, and lifestyle items. The store also includes a grab-and-go café offering both trendy items like veggie bowls and avocado toast, to vegetarian versions of family favourites like burgers and pizzas. The goal is to make healthy vegetarian food convenient and accessible.
Even before the official opening of Larry’s Market, anticipation was high in the green-friendly Vancouver area. Particular focus was on local brands like Blue House Organics and The Modern Pantry. Grocery stores of all sizes rely on both word of mouth and tools like flyer printing and brochure printing used to advertise products and sales.
The new store is located in North Vancouver’s harbour district. Larry’s Market is the brainchild of Ryan Dennis (Larry is his middle name), the third generation of his family to work in the area. Dennis worked in the grocery industry for 25 years, but was often frustrated by the difficulty of finding good vegetarian food. He explained to VancouverIsAwesome.com that the new store is a way to both address the issue and pay homage to his roots.
