An outdoor music festival is coming to Metro Vancouver, with the goal of raising money for local charities.
The event is called Foodstock and will feature an octet of local musical groups, including Bend Sinister, Sleep Gonzales and The Noodle Boys. The day will feature a festive outdoor atmosphere, encouraging audiences to stretch out on the grass with blankets and lawn chairs and participate in various lawn games. To this end, there will be a number of libations available from local breweries, such as the Luppolo Brewing Company, Strange Fellows Brewing and Studio Brewing, and food trucks including Kyu Grill, Shameless Buns, and Reel Mac n Cheese. The Burnaby-hosted event aims to draw in music lovers from nearby areas such as North Vancouver.
A portion of the proceeds from all tickets and food and drink purchased will go towards The Greater Vancouver Food Bank. The Food Bank helps provide support to over 10,000 people each month in Vancouver and surrounding areas, in addition to running educational programs. Charitable events like this often partner with local businesses ranging from Print shops to newspapers, and Foodstock is no different, being presented in association with local radio station 102.7 The Peak.
Foodstock will take place on the afternoon June 26, 2022 at Swangard Stadium.
