International mobility conference to visit North Van

2023 will see the Shared Mobility Rocks international conference come to North Vancouver, bringing together people across the world dedicated to more accessible public transit and more.

The conference will feature speakers from various government, nonprofit, and business entities, all with the goal of improving public mobility through transit and accessibility. Countries represented include Canada, Belgium, the United States, Japan, Switzerland and Germany, with Metro Vancouver names including Coquitlam Mayor Brad West, Evo Car Share director Amitis Khorsandi, and City of North Vancouver transport planner Sarah Tremblay. The conference, themed after a rock conference, features panel discussions and talks with names like “Don’t Believe the Hype – It’s Shared Mobility” and “Godzilla Eats Shared Mobility”, as well as various networking events.

Shared Mobility Rocks was created in Belgium and has since been hosted virtually and in Germany. The 2023 edition in North Vancouver will be the first time the conference takes place outside of Europe. This year will see the addition of a mini showcase for the sustainable transportation industry, a pre-conference social mingler, and the recording of a live podcast. Industry and public policy conferences this are often used by professionals in the field to make connections, trading Business Cards and contact information.
