Festival celebrates Polish culture

The 5th annual Polish Festival Vancouver is taking place this weekend in North Vancouver. It is presented by the North Shore Polish Association Belweder.

The festival promises to have plenty of activities and events that will appeal to people of all ages. The day will start off with a kids’ program which is set to feature a puppet theater show, children’s plays, arts and crafts activities, face painting and an appearance by the balloon lady.

The official opening ceremony will take place at 2:00 PM and will feature entertainment from the Eagle Song Dancers – Spakwas Slulum.

There will be a variety of cultural performances taking place during the festival. Some of those confirmed to appear are the Polonez Polish Folk Arts Ensemble and the Roma Gry dance group.

Guests will have the opportunity to try a variety of Polish foods such as perogies and traditional drinks.

In addition, vendors will be on hand to sell Polish-related merchandise as well as arts and crafts such as jewelry, ceramics and paintings. Some of the vendors may invest in Signs and Banners from North Vancouver Print companies to bring more attention to their booths.
