Abbotsford invited to stop by Open Hive afternoon

Whether they are native bumblebees or imported honeybees, these tiny but hardworking insects are one of nature’s top pollinators. An Abbotsford activity will introduce the public to a hive and its inhabitants, and everyone is welcome to see what the buzz is all about.

During August, Campbell’s Gold Honey Farm and Meadery will be offering a sneak peek into its hives, and these hour-long sessions are open to any age. The only thing the public needs to bring to the Open Hive will be their curiosity, as asking questions is highly encouraged.

The activity will be led by an experienced bee keeper, and the visit will include a discussion of apiary-related issues. It can be of interest to those who have always wanted to learn more about bees and the pressures they face from disease, human activity and environmental change.

Hosting this sort of activity can be a great way to spark an interest in hobbies such as beekeeping. A flyer printing company can work with the organizers of a function to help market it to the local area.

Campbell’s Gold Honey Farm and Meadery in Abbotsford will be hosting its Open Hive days on August 5th, and after that, they will take place on Thursday afternoons throughout the month of August. Drop ins are welcome, and the admission fee is $5.
