Two of the major cultural institutions in Abbotsford, which have had a long history of working well together, have decided to join into one organization dedicated to supporting arts and heritage in the community.
The MSA Museum Society and The Reach Gallery have similar mandates, and according to Ms. Hayden, who is the MSA Museum Society’s President, it makes good sense for the two groups to combine and expand.
It will continue to operate the Threthewey House and the Reach Museum, and has set a goal of providing expanded programming to residents of the city and surrounding area. A printing company will be able to work alongside the new organization to provide any printed materials that may be needed to reflect it, such as digital Business Cards, Letterheads, operating manuals, and inventory record sheets. These can include any logos that may have been designed.
Mr. Walker, who is the Chair of the Reach Board of Directors, pointed out that by combining the institutions’ resources, they will be able to save money of administration, which can then be put into other areas, such as program delivery. He further remarked that any budget issues will be sorted out as the merger moves forward, and there will not be any layoffs as a result.
The plan is for the joining of the two organizations to be completed by January, 2016. Get a Free Quote for Business Cards Get a Free Quote for Letterheads
