Westerner Days returning to Red Deer

One of Red Deer’s biggest summer events will be back in full force this summer, as Westerner Days Fair & Exposition will return for a five-day festival.

The weekend will kick off with the traditional Westerner Days Parade throughout downtown Red Deer, featuring local performers and floats by Red Deer organizations. The festival will have a main stage with musical entertainment, featuring major Canadian artists including Billy Talent, Corb Lund and Great Big Sea frontman Alan Doyle. Other live entertainment will take place across all five days. Food trucks and events will be a major part of the festival, including morning pancake breakfasts and evening barbecues. There will also be traditional rodeo entertainment including nightly pony chuckwagon races.

The midway will be one of the major attractions, with rides and carnival games set up. Westerner Days offers an all-day pass with unlimited rides. The Westerner Days event has been in existence since the early days of Red Deer and has a major impact on the city’s economy, bringing in an estimated $7 million in commerce each year.

Large events like this can be a major opportunity for local vendors and small businesses to interact with customers, often providing unique Promotional Products and sales to win over new customers.

The 2022 edition of Westerner Days will take place between July 20 and 24 at Westerner Park.
