Upcoming celebration to let people revisit history

The Fort Normandeau Days celebration is taking place in Red Deer for two days this August. It is hosted by the Waskasoo Environmental Education Society.

The Fort allows visitors to experience what life was like in Alberta in and around the year 1885. The weekend celebration is set to feature military reenactments, First Nations ceremonies, and dancing. There will also be foods from the period, arts and crafts displays, and a variety of children's games. It should be a great opportunity for families to learn about the history of their city and province.

This is just one of the events hosted by the Society during the month of August. Other activities that visitors can take part in include a family bike adventure, the Perseid Meteor Shower Star Party, and tipi building and canning workshops.

It is entirely likely that the organizers of these upcoming events will work with Red Deer printing companies to help advertise them to the public. This may involve investing in sign, poster, or flyer printing services.

Fort Normandeau Days will take place from August 23rd – 24th. Admission is by donation; recommended is $10 for a family of up to five people, $15 for six or more, or $3 per person.
