Unique softball tournament on deck for Red Deer
An upcoming event will combine amateur softball with the atmosphere of a street festival as the Here Comes the BOOM tournament arrives in Red Deer.
The tournament will see up to 20 teams battle it out over the course of a weekend in casual but competitive softball games. The event is sanctioned by Slo-Pitch National with trained umpires on site.
Here Comes the BOOM will be surrounded by a festival atmosphere and will include an artisan market, food trucks and a beer garden. Marketplaces such as these are a popular way for shoppers to find new favourites and businesses to connect to customers with business cards and special items. The tournament grounds will focus on fresh and homemade food and drink.
In addition to softball, Here Comes the BOOM will include a number of other activities and events. This will include a “beer Olympics” and “Slip & Slide KickBall”, both meant to be a light-hearted end to the weekend after the final pitch. There will also be activities aimed at kids, including face-painting and temporary tattoos. The tournament will also feature live music, including an acoustic performance by LETICIA, classic pop covers from The Arcane Five and an open mic.
