Rodeo championships on their way to Red Deer
The Canadian Finals Rodeo will take place in Red Deer next month, providing five nights of competition and entertainment.
The rodeo will feature 10 competitions in categories such as bareback riding, breakaway roping and tie-down roping. There will also be novice and junior categories for saddle and bareback riding and steer riding. Each show will feature all major events, providing a sampler of the various skills involved in the rodeo.
There will also be entertainment events on each day, such as a cabaret with live music and live panels, and meet-and-greets with contestants, where visitors will have a chance to get autographs and talk directly with rodeo stars. Each competition will feature the top finishers from the Canadian Tour rodeo series.
There will also be a trade show to go along with the Canadian Finals Rodeo. The event expects hundreds of exhibitors providing products and demonstrations in everything from western-inspired fashion to agricultural goods. Businesses that provide conventional rodeo and agricultural products often use modern tools like customized promotional products to reach new audiences at events like these.
The rodeo will be livestreamed on the FloRodeo platform. It has taken place since 1974, but has only been in Red Deer since 2018.
The 2021 edition of the Canadian Finals Rodeo will take place at Red Deer’s Westerner Park between November 3 and 7. Parking and attendance for the on-site celebrations and events such as the trade show will be free.
