Reptile expo to slither into Red Deer

The Western Canadian Reptile Expo will be making its return to Red Deer this August, offering an assortment of everything lizards, snakes and other reptiles and amphibians.

The event will feature dozens of vendors from Albert, as well as visitors from other provinces and countries, selling items such as food, habitats and healthcare products for reptile owners. Many unique and unusual reptiles will also be on display.

Past editions have included exhibitors with names such as Blue Tongue Exotics, Tails and Scales and Critters and Crawlers Insect Farm. This will be the 12th annual edition of the Red Deer show.

This year’s edition will be the first Western Canadian Reptile Expo since 2019, with the past two years’ events cancelled for public health reasons. Announced sponsors include Okotoks-based store Schoolhouse Pets and reptile food and accessory maker Zoo Med.

As is typical for expos such as this, vendors are able to rent tables on the show floor, with discounted hotel room blocks also available for enthusiasts to get together. Pet-based conventions such as this often also include educational seminars, panel discussions, and more. Many vendors at events like this offer discounts or unique Promotional Products.

The 2022 edition of the Western Canadian Reptile Expo will take place on August 27 and 28 at the Red Deer Hotel & Conference Centre.
