Red Deer to host delicious event in support of local children
An event planned for Red Deer will give people a chance to enjoy desserts and other treats with friends old and new while they raise money to help local children.
The Red Deer Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and pediatric units will benefit from funds raised through the evening’s activities. There will be live entertainment, and local businesses will be contributing both appetizers and desserts for the occasion.
According to the organizers, the monies raised will go a long way towards helping the hospital purchase lifesaving equipment. This year, the goal is collect enough funds to pay for one of the total of 15 new incubators that it needs to provide optimum care to the many babies and children it helps each year. Each incubator comes with a price tag of $22,000. Brochures can be distributed during an event such as this that give further information about how the money will be used.
This will be the fourth year for the dessert gala, which will be held on Saturday, November 19th from 5:30 pm until 10:30 pm at the Scott Block Theatre, which is located at 4816 50 Avenue. Tickets are $45 each, with tables of eight available at a cost of $43.75 per person. Donations will also be gratefully accepted from those who cannot attend the function themselves.
