Red Deer to host conference on leadership
A one-day conference focused on developing leadership will be held in the Alberta city of Red Deer this September.
The event will focus on finding ways to build this elusive quality, with this year’s theme being “leading healthy teams.”
The event is the seventh annual Central Alberta Leadership Conference. Speakers will include Kristen Cumming on transformational leadership, Brenda Robinson on managing Gen Y team members, Donna Trottier on maintaining physical and mental fitness, and Tammy Prince on workplace mindfulness. There will also be a panel discussion on the team-building opportunities presented by community service.
The Leadership Conference is put together by CorQuest, an Alberta-owned company that focuses on business education and professional development. CorQuest’s Linda Wilson will be presenting on the ‘5 Behaviours of a Cohesive Team’. There will also be a luncheon featuring a trade show and special break out ‘lunch and learn’ groups. In addition to their educational value, business events like this can be a great opportunity for networking, with business cards and promotional pens often changing hands.
The 2019 Central Alberta Leadership Conference will take place at the Cambridge Red Deer Hotel and Conference Centre on September 16. In addition to the live lectures and seminars planned for the day, there will also be three ‘Leadercast’ video presentations, with experts speaking to conference-goers remotely.
