Red Deer to explore natural soap making
Making soap at home is a practice that was commonplace for many years, and a Red Deer workshop will soon bring this practice into the modern age.
Spring is often considered a good time to get some cleaning done, and the Spring Soap Making workshop will teach attendees how to prepare soaps using natural ingredients. The activity will be on offer at the Ketty Wood Centre.
The group will be taught the steps of the cold process method, and everyone is advised to wear clothing that will not be ruined if it gets dirty. Old towels are also required, as these will be used to wrap the soap. Everyone will get the chance to make a batch to take home, and tickets are $20.00, plus any applicable taxes. The workshop is intended for those aged 14 and up, and those who are interested will need to register by no later than Sunday, March 3rd.
Learning a new hobby can be very rewarding, and a class or workshop like this one provides a chance to do so. Print shops can prepare ingredient and material lists, along with other handouts for such an event.
This introduction to the art and science of making cold process soap will be on offer on Tuesday, March 5th. It will start at 6:30 pm sharp.
