Red Deer to acknowledge Seniors' Day

National Seniors' Day is an annual event that is celebrated in several communities all over Canada on October 1st, with goings-on typically including seminars, workshops, and parties. To recognize this day, there will be a special mini conference held in the Red Deer area on the afternoon before.

The conference will consist of two separate information sessions and a sit-down dinner; in order to participate in the latter, guests must have attended at least one of the sessions. Professionals from the community will be holding them, and they will have the topics of downsizing for seniors and setting up an advanced care plan for care givers, in case a person cannot speak for themselves.

This event will no doubt be of great interest to many people in the community, and not just seniors or those who care for them. To help advertise it in the area, including in nearby Red Deer, organizers may decide to invest in flyer printing services from their local printing company.

The National Seniors' Day mini conference will be taking place at the Sylvan Lake Family and Community Centre on September 30th, from 4:30pm to 8:30pm. Tickets are $10 each and must be purchased in advance; there is a maximum of 150 to be sold. To find out more about this upcoming event, call Maryan at 403-887-5428.
