Red Deer plans high-flying fundraiser
A fundraiser will soon be taking flight in Red Deer, with the aim of making sure no one in the community goes hungry.
Sky Wings Aviation Academy has partnered with The Red Deer Food Bank to offer the Operation Food Lift day of festivities to the public. It will serve as the start of the Food Bank’s fall fundraisers, and the organizers are hoping it will be a big success.
For a $30.00 donation, members of the public will be able to enjoy a short flight over Red Deer so they can view and admire the cityscape, and once they are back on the ground, they can place their bids on the items on the block in the silent auction. Vendor and information booths will be set up, and the kids can collect stickers, get a tattoo, or try one of the many other activities. Two food trucks will be on hand, and the festivities are scheduled to start at 10:00 am.
Creative fundraisers are often very successful, as they offer opportunities to enjoy unique fun. Themed promotional products to use as swag at events like this can be ordered from area print shops.
Operation Food Lift 2025 will be taking flight on Sunday, September 28, and it will be running for six hours. Red Deer Regional Airport is set to serve as the venue for the day.
