Red Deer park plans Touch A Truck day

The Central Alberta Crime Prevention Centre has issued an invitation to one and all to attend an event that will bring them up close and personal with an assortment of first responder vehicles and other big rigs.

Red Deer’s Westerner Park will see lots of working vehicles roll in for a ‘touch a truck’ event. It will be family friendly, and to help make it enjoyable for those with sensory processing issues, it will open with a quiet hour when the sirens and horns will be shut off. After this, they will be turned back on.

The vehicles that will be on site include RCMP cars and other equipment as well as fire trucks, ambulances and an assortment of industrial trucks. The gates will open to the public half an hour ahead of the function’s start time, and both single and family admission passes have been made available. It will be held rain or shine, and pets will not be permitted on site.

A community event can be fun for all those who take part. A banner printing company can prepare Signs that provide details about the various displays that will be set up.

The 7th annual Red Deer Touch a Truck celebration will begin with its Quiet Hour starting at 10:00 am on May 11th. Advance tickets may be purchased through its listing.
