Red Deer museum has fun New Year's Eve planned for kids

The Alberta Sports Hall of Fame and Museum is holding a New Year's Eve Sleepover this month.

This event is restricted to children between the ages of 8 and 12; there are only 30 spots and those interested must register by December 22. The theme this year is "Dreams and Goals". The children will take part in crafting activities, play fun games and enjoy delicious meals. Guest speakers will also be on hand; at the last sleepover held at the museum in July, children were treated to a talk from a representative of Hockey Alberta.

Children in attendance will also have the opportunity to visit some of the exhibits at the museum, which include an art gallery, an ice and snow gallery and a showcase of sports organizations. There is also a display featuring Paralympic athletes and disability sports.

No doubt this event will be widely advertised in Red Deer, possibly with materials obtained from a local flyer printing company. These items may be mailed out to all residents or posted at various public buildings.

The New Year's Eve Sleepover will be held at the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame and Museum from December 31 at 5:00 PM to January 1 at 9:00 AM. Tickets are $50 each. To register or to learn more about this event, call 403-341-8614.
