Both the young and the young at heart may find big rigs fascinating, and they will be able to get their fill of heavy equipment and other vehicles when they attend the Touch A Truck event planned for Westerner Park.
Red Deer truck fans will be heading to the park for a day of getting up close to a variety of heavy equipment, first responder vehicles and other gear. There will be a quiet hour on the agenda for those with sensory processing issues, and both single and family admission passes will be on offer.
The attendees will get to take in everything from police cars, ambulances and fire trucks to tractors used on agricultural operations and construction. There will be Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and Emergency Medical Service (EMS) crews on hand, and anyone who would like to purchase a snack or lunch will be invited to head to the food truck area. It has been requested by the organizers that pets be left at home.
Touch A Truck and other community events give local residents the chance to learn about how their city and its industries operate. A poster printing company can craft advertising materials for such a local activity.
The Touch A Truck event will see big rigs and other equipment roll into Westerner Park on May 11th. It will run from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm, and the quiet hour will begin at 10:00 am.
