What's Happening in Red Deer, AB…

Red Deer Christmas Tree Festival and Parade is soon

It’s hard to believe but Christmas is almost here again; Halloween has barely ended but the race is on to decorate for the next holiday. People are ramping up their shopping, kids are getting excited and Santa Claus parades are being planned for most major cities in Canada, including Red Deer.

The Biggest Christmas Tree Festival and Parade will take place in Red Deer on November 22; the event will be held at the Old Court House Professional Centre from 6:30 pm until 7:45 pm. Admission is free and this family-friendly event will feature lots of activities for the kids, free refreshments, the lighting of the Christmas tree and the lights in City Hall Park and, of course, Santa Claus. The route of the parade has not yet been decided and if the wind-chill gets below -25 the event will be cancelled. Most Santa Claus parades take place in the afternoon, Red Deer’s stands out as one of the few night time parades in the country. It actually makes it seem more special as the dark lets you see the lights twinkling and the decorations seem all that more magical.

No doubt, banner printing will be in full swing at local Red Deer companies. Banners, and other products such as posters, can help bring attention to all outdoor events such as this and make them more exciting. A colourful banner proclaiming an event can draw people who might not have thought about attending. This, combined with the beauty of Christmas lights on the trees, can make an event more special.
