Red Deer ball offers princess experience for good cause
This February will see a ‘Gasoline Alley’ hotel transformed into a magical Princess Ball designed to enchant local families.
The Princess Ball will allow children to meet the likes of Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty or Tinker Bell. Proceeds from the event will go to benefit Cystic Fibrosis Canada. There will be an opening ceremony bringing awareness to the struggles of Cystic Fibrosis and honouring those fighting it.
Child-friendly activities include performances from Dance Magic and Cornerstone Youth Theatre, face painting, craft tables, snacks, and dancing. Adults can engage in a silent auction or Rainbow Raffle, with proceeds also going to Cystic Fibrosis Canada.
Attendees, especially children, are encouraged to dress up in ‘royal’ outfits such as princess dresses. Called ‘the ball that started it all’, the event was created by a Red Deer mother in support of her daughter living with Cystic Fibrosis.
Fundraising events like this, often advertised through poster printing, can be crucial to help non-profits meet their funding goals and connect with the community. Since the start of the Red Deer ball, a similar event has been launched in Calgary, and has also proven a success.
The 2020 edition of the Princess Ball will take place on the afternoon of Saturday, February 22 at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Red Deer South.
